Cheers! @Little.Free.Florist : 2021 Flowers for all

Flowers for everyone

It is such a joy to look back through #littlefreeflorist posts this time of year. Over the 2021 growing season, 400 free minibouquets were shared from the @little.free.florist cabinet across 66 dates from mid June through October.

The flowers that go into this cabinet are meant to be a pick-me-up for passers-by, and often includes unique plant material. This cabinet is partly an extension of my garden education/activism that focuses on bringing city residents closer to nature. It’s also a way to express appreciation and gratitude for my neighbors.

The Little Free Florist cabinet is also used to share seeds, nature art kits and seedlings.

Notable mentions

This season, the Little Free Florist was also part of 2 magazine articles (the Atlantic Monthly & Minnesota Conservation Volunteer ) AND was incorporated into a poem written by Hawona Sullivan Janzen that is also public art piece called Love Letters for the Midway. My gratitude is extended to all of these writers, photographers and editors!

Pictured are some of the handtied-bouquets that you liked the most from the past growing season. As I write, seeds from many of these plants await my attention so we can do this again in 2022!
