Got Seedlings?: It's time to return native plant seed-starting kits!

Did you grab a seed-starting kit from a little free cabinet or rec center in the Midway or Frogtown neighborhoods and sow some native plant seeds? These kits were designed to grow plants for our community including spaces along “The Bee Line” (aka Pierce Butler Route). The Bee Line project is collecting surplus plants from kits for transplanting into these community spaces. Volunteers from the Seedling Corps will nurture them until fall when community members will be invited to help plant at events at Pierce Butler Meadow, Monarch City and other public spaces.

If your kit is sprouting seedlings, feel free to transplant some into a separate pot for your own space. The Bee Line will take back any kit seedlings that you won’t use. Let us know your kit is ready for pick up and where it is located and The Bee Line folks will collect the surplus plants.
